My outdoor adventures began as a young girl in Alabama in the 1980s & 90s. My family homestead is located on a rural section of the Alabama River Watershed, off of the Warrior River waterway system. From the time I was skilled enough to walk, run and swim, my home was in the water and on the trails that ran alongside it, and I have been drawn to the beautiful rivers and forests of the American Southeast ever since!

The Pinhoti Trail, on the Alabama side, is my home away from home, specifically Sections 12-15. I spent 20 years solo-hiking and backcountry camping along this trek through the Talladega National Forest and it still holds my heart in its remote forested hills, mountain streams, remote lakes, and laurel filled ravines.

While my specialty has been in water related activities - canoeing, kayaking, swimming, cliff diving, and fishing - I’m also an enthusiast of activities like rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, back-country camping, and so much more! God’s playground is right outside our backdoor, and there is nowhere that I find more joy, serenity, and action-packed adventure than in Mother Nature and the American State and National Parks!

While in college at Jacksonville State University I discovered my love for the hospitality industry. As a college sophomore I began working at a small hotel just a few miles from my college, and began to revel in the joy of meeting people from all walks of life and all corners of the world.

Helping travelers discover the hidden gems in our area, making the most of every moment and opportunity to maximize their experiences in our beautiful region, has been rewarding and fun!

Through these amazing experiences I have been blessed to meet and connect with people from all walks of life over the years, and it has added a new dimension of connection and appreciation for the everyday things that connect us - a passion for adventure, cultural exchange, and camaraderie.

My journey has been blessed with exceptional people and experiences, and I am excited to continue this journey at Mulberry Gap Adventure Basecamp - where I can blend purpose and passion, connect with and assist other outdoor enthusiasts, creating new memories and meaningful moments under the stars and swaying pines at Mulberry Gap!
